Medical Facilities at SMGG

SMGG is committed to ensuring the well-being of its students and staff by providing 24×7 medical care. Recognizing healthcare as a fundamental necessity, the institution has established comprehensive health facilities both on-campus and in hostels.

Health Centre and Medical Officer
A Registered Medical Practitioner (RMP) serves as the appointed Medical Officer to address immediate health needs. The Health Centre is equipped to provide first aid and basic medical care, with essential equipment such as thermometers, sterilizers, autoclaves, dressing drums, weight scales, BP apparatus, patient beds, and stretchers.

Emergency and Referral Services
In case of critical health issues or complications, patients are referred to the Primary Health Centre (PHC) at Chebrolu or the General Medical Hospital in Guntur City. A dedicated ambulance service is available 24×7 to ensure timely transportation during emergencies.

On-Campus Dispensary and First Aid
The institution operates an on-campus dispensary to meet routine medical needs and provide first-aid services at no cost. The dispensary also offers consultation services to faculty and staff members. It is staffed by a senior medical officer, pharmacist, and nursing assistants to attend to the health needs of the SMGG community.

Specialized Care and Partnerships
To provide specialized medical care, SMGG has partnered with a nearby corporate hospital. This collaboration ensures that students requiring advanced treatment receive prompt and appropriate care.

Health Education and Monitoring
The institution promotes health awareness and conducts routine medical checks. Additionally, the medical staff oversees food quality in the hostel mess and canteen to ensure hygiene and safety standards.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Medical Team

  • Conducting consultations and physical examinations on campus and in hostels.
  • Administering medication and treating minor injuries or accidents occurring in laboratories.
  • Promoting health education among students and staff.
  • Providing free medical care for all students and employees.
